bad english

I love bad English. Like farts and the girls advertising things--the ones with short skirts, big boots, doing dance routines to the loud music blaring behind them--it never ceases to amuse me.

I'm conscious of my words again. It's hard to place them on the page, for I fear that they are wrong, not enough, or will be read by someone else's eyes and misinterpreted. I'm careful with my thoughts... trying to reorganize the patterns to undo the bad habits and twisted cycles of judgment and negativity I've become accustomed to.

new kicks

red sneakers prance on these well traveled paths with new found vim and exuberance. I am here today. Treads seep into pavement. I leave my mark. click the ruby slippers. three times. I bounce up mountains. push deep into earth. I walk on paths where millions have placed their steps, but [I am different] mine are different today in my shoes I exist here this is my space I will not be moved aside.

I love when the subway pops out from the dungeon and elevates me stories above the ground to cross rivers, race with cars, on the bridges, to see the city I live in with a wider lens. Thoughts run deep as I glide across water. I love standing next to the window, taking in the view and realizing I LIVE IN SEOUL.

things I don't want to hear

Where are you from?
Why did you come to Korea?
How old are you?
Are you married?
Do you have a boyfriend?
You look tired.
You should take a rest.
I'm fine thank you, and you?
Do you like Korean men?
Do you eat Korean food?

I'm sick of answering these questions and listening to dull canned statements. I'm getting really bored, which means I'm probably going to start making up stories/lies.

fast train

I'm going to Pusan this weekend. ON THE KTX. I feel a bit like I'm training for my three week adventure on the Trans-Siberian. I love the train. Hands down, it's the best way to get from point A to point B.

I'm bringing my nipples. If you're down in Pusan, and you want one, come find me at Vinyl Underground on Saturday.

ps. I was in the paper.

perfect sundays

nipple production

For the past month or so my Sunday ritual has been to meet up with Jutta. Last weekend we met for some yummy Turkish food at Istanbul(not the take-out joint near Noksapyeong Station, but the fabulous restaurant near my place). We followed that up with cheese cake and an out-of-this-world piece of chocolate cake at Platters, an American-style dinner in Hyehwa.

sand between my toes

This weekend we found ourselves wandering around Itaewon in the nasty muggy heat. After sweating our faces open we ended up at Bungalo my favorite spot for cocktails--toes in the sand, drinking cosmos, chatting about culture, laughing (as usual) all while I made nipples. Jutta found the perfect bead for her necklace from my stash. I've carried this handmade glass piece with me in my art supplies for years looking for the right home.

i heart pictobrowser

ITPers are so cool. I used PictoBrowser, a useful (and free) flash widget, to create a page from my nippleplay and CONSUME MY GOODS flickr sets.

To get your PictoBrowser: click "INFO" (button shown on all PictoBrowsers) enter your flickr userName and choose one of your sets to get a couple of lines of html code, that once inserted on your site, will call PictoBrowser and tell it to get and show your photos.

FABULOUS! Thanks Diego and Carlos!

bitching, buddha, a blue boob and nipples

I went to the Seoul Stitch n Bitch on Sunday. I was quite productive. I finished a bunch of nipple pins, a blue boob, a blue nipple necklace, and my new favorite, fancylady.

It's like my blue boob phase...

blue boobs, nipples, and Buddha

The SnB was a small group, but it was nice to have a bit of crafty time with artsy ladies. Hopefully in the future I can convince some of my favorite creative folk to join in. Good stuff.

The pieces I submitted to The Nipple Project have been posted on thier site. I'm excited to be part of their community based art installation out in Cali this coming October. They are still accepting submissions till July 30th, so if you want to be part, there is no time like the present. GO NIPPLES!

EDEN was fantastic. Venus (so beautiful in every possible way) put together a splendid event and I had a wonderful time. For the most part the Seoul scene enjoyed the cookies. Some ladies sat down and really got into decorating their pussies. Despite the fact that the pussy cookie room felt like you were slowly being roasted in a small toaster oven (all that hot pussy in one place at the same time...), some ladies sat around for at least 30 minutes meticulously placing sprinkles on perfectly laidout icing.

I love my friends for coming out--not only for supporting the night, but also for all their adoration. I mean Paul took great photos, Angelique stopped by to rep Philly, my taekwondo instructor even showed up and totally dug CONSUME MY GOODS. AND JUTTA! Jutta, Jutta, Jutta! My muse, my creative sidekick, my favorite--I couldn't have survived the evening without her. I didn't even have the chance to hang out with people like Charlie and Mark, who just got back from their two-month vacation, or even Judo, who I aodre, but it was awesome just to be surrounded by these people.

I can safely say that it was a good birthday. Now I just have to decide what I want next.
